We only use cookies the site needs to work. No advertising cookies, no tracking across other sites and no cookie banner.

What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file a website saves on your device. It lets the site recognise your browser and remember things between visits. Get Me This is run by Hot Tequila Limited.

Cookies we use

All our cookies are strictly necessary. They’re set by Get Me This, not by anyone else, and the law doesn’t require your consent for them:

  • get-me-this-session: keeps track of your visit and keeps you signed in. Expires two hours after you were last active.
  • XSRF-TOKEN: protects forms against cross-site request forgery. Expires two hours after you were last active.
  • remember_web_…: keeps you signed in between visits after you enter a sign-in code. Removed when you sign out.
  • owner_token: ties a list you haven’t saved to an account yet to your browser, so you can keep editing it. Lasts up to five years.
  • guest_claims: remembers which gifts you claimed as a guest, so you can see and undo them. Lasts up to five years.

Our cookies are encrypted and can only be read by us.

Browser storage

When you claim a gift, your browser remembers the name and email you entered so you don’t have to type them again next time. This stays on your device and is never sent to us unless you claim another gift.

Analytics and advertising

We count visits with Plausible, which doesn’t use cookies, doesn’t collect personal data and doesn’t track you across other sites.

We don’t show adverts or use advertising cookies. If that changes, we’ll update this page and ask for your consent before setting any cookie that isn’t strictly necessary.

Your choices

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block ours, you won’t be able to sign in, keep editing a list you haven’t saved yet or see the gifts you claimed.
